Requesting Records by Mail or Fax

Send your completed form with case details to the appropriate Legal Documents Branch. Do not include payment with the initial request. An invoice comes first. Prepay using a money order, cashier's check, or certified check. Written requests process in at least 10 business days. Mailed requests take 15 to 20 business days.
Your request should include your full name and contact information, the case number or party names if no case number is available, the type of case, specific document descriptions, number of copies needed, and whether certified copies are required. Include a self-addressed stamped envelope for return correspondence. If a request is denied, HRS Chapter 92F gives you the right to appeal to the Office of Information Practices at (808) 586-1400 within 30 days of denial.
